Founder Juan Carlos Hernandez spent nearly ten years working with one of the nation's largest moving networks — learning logistics, operations, customer service, residential and commercial relocations, team coordination, and professional moving standards. It was during those years that he realized: moving isn't just about transporting belongings, it's about trust and helping families through major life transitions.
Juan started Ally Moving with one 16-foot truck and a mechanic shop as his first workspace — committed to quality service over rapid expansion. In those early days, the same small team answered phones, loaded trucks, drove routes, scheduled jobs and handled customer service, all at once.
The company gained traction through platforms like Thumbtack, growing from a single move to more than 1,000 completed relocations — expanding across Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Ally Moving LLC now operates from a professional facility in Beltsville, Maryland, featuring a climate-controlled warehouse with 24-hour monitoring, and serves the entire East Coast with local & long-distance moving, residential and commercial relocation, secure storage, and junk removal.
